Delivery Scheduling Clerk

What the job is like

In today’s warehouse, space is money, and most companies don’t want inventory in the warehouse until it is needed; therefore, the delivery scheduling clerk must be a good planner.

They will forecast the end users’ needs and schedule inbound materials accordingly.

Essential skills or attributes

  • Beginner Computer Skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
  • Basic Math Skills (Addition, Subtraction, Division, Multiplication, Fractions, Percentages)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and business etiquette (customer service)
  • Basic knowledge of transportation rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations and compliance
  • Experience in the application of regulatory compliance
  • Production and Resource Scheduling
  • Ability to read and interpret industry related reports and data

Usual required training

High School Diploma/ GED.  Experience required varies by company.

Industry related training may be required.
