Quality Assurance Personnel

What the job is like

Quality control inspectors spend a lot of time in the warehouse or storage areas inspecting incoming and/or outgoing materials.

They report overages, shortages, and damages; communicate with internal and external stakeholders on supplier performance and issue corrective action plans to improve operational performance. 

Essential skills or attributes

  • Beginner Computer Skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
  • Basic Math Skills (Addition, Subtraction, Division, Multiplication, Fractions, Percentages)
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of warehouse strategies and processes
  • Understanding of supply chain strategies and processes
  • Understanding of supply chain and warehouse theory
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations and compliance
  • Experience in the application of regulatory compliance
  • Ability to read and interpret industry related reports and data

Usual required training

High school Diploma/GED.  Some companies may require industry related training. 

Some companies may require industry related experience. Some companies may value Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree.
