Return Goods Clerk
What the job is like
The return goods clerk often makes determinations on when inventory should be returned due to damage or a damage claim made.
Sometimes the inventory can and should be salvaged to keep the plant operating, so this clerk must be able to make decisions quickly.
This position will inspect returned goods for reuse (salvageability) or resale; processes returned goods according to disposition; complete documentation and inventory requirements.
Essential skills or attributes
- Intermediate Computer Skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
- Basic Math Skills (Addition, Subtraction, Division, Multiplication, Fractions, Percentages)
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations and compliance
- Ability to read and interpret industry related reports and data
- Negotiation skills
Usual required training
High School Diploma/GED. Some companies require industry training and/or experience.
