Position Title
Overage, Shortage and Damage (OSD) Clerk
What the job is like
The OSD clerk will inspect shipments to validate claims; work with claimants to assess responsibility and recreate damage scenarios to assess liability.
This position will also address overage, shortage, and damage issues; research causes of claims; analyze root causes; determine resolutions; and communicate findings.
Essential skills or attributes
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and business etiquette (customer service)
- Beginner Computer Skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems
- Basic knowledge of transportation rules and regulations
- Understanding of warehouse strategies and processes
- Understanding of supply chain strategies and processes
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations and compliance
- Experience in the application of regulatory compliance
- Production and Resource Scheduling
- Ability to read and interpret industry related reports and data
- Negotiation skills
Usual required training
High School Diploma/GED. Some companies require industry training and/or experience.
