Loader
What the job is like
The loader’s job is to load freight based on product and service requirements. The job is physical since the loader puts freight in the truck or other mode of transport.
There is some paperwork to record incoming and outgoing inventory. Some loaders use forklift’s to move pallets into waiting trucks.
Essential skills or attributes
- Basic Math Skills (Addition, Subtraction, Division, Multiplication, Fractions, Percentages)
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations and compliance
- Experience in the application of regulatory compliance
Usual required training
High School Diploma/GED. Some companies value industry training and/or experience.
Forklift training and/or experience valued.
