What the job is like
Distribution technicians maintain intra- and inter-organization communications; resolve problems; monitor and analyze performance metrics (standards of measurement of a function or operation).
They are responsible for an area or product, overseeing efficient inventory movement.
Essential skills or attributes
- Beginner Computer Skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
- Basic Math Skills (Addition, Subtraction, Division, Multiplication, Fractions, Percentages)
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations and compliance
Usual required training
High School Diploma/GED. Some companies value experience with inventory. Some companies value industry training and/or experience.
Forklift training and/or experience valued.
