Frequently Asked Questions
Do you want a program of study that takes two years or less?
Six months, one year or two years, take your pick. Community Colleges such as Black Hawk College in Moline, Illinois, and Eastern Iowa Community College District in Iowa, provide training that can be completed in a series of four, five or six week classes.
These community colleges also offer a one-year certificate, or a two-year associate degree. There are many ways to succeed in the logistics field.
Do you want to earn some credits while you are in high school?
Some high schools in the Quad Cities participate in the "Academies." These academies are based on agreements between the high school and the community college, allowing juniors and seniors to enroll in college-level classes during high school and earn college credits.
To find out if your high school has Logistics Academies, please contact your counselor or advisor.
Do you want a four year degree?
Community Colleges offer an inexpensive way to begin a four-year degree by offering transfer programs to four-year degree institutions. For logistics, both Black Hawk College and Eastern Iowa Community College District have articulation agreements with Western Illinois University for the Supply Chain Management bachelor's degree program.
Do you want to save money in tuition?
You don't want to graduate from college with a huge loan hanging over your head. Community Colleges offer an affordable, quality education, with tuition that may be half that charged by four year schools and much, much less than private school tuition. Research costs and compare courses. You'll agree that community colleges offer a very smart start for your new career.
