"Joined by a River: Logistics Programming in the Quad Cities" Project
This Web site was developed as a storehouse of information to help you make important career decisions and determine if the logistics field is right for you and if so, how to find training for the job you want.
It was funded by the US Department of Labor as part of a larger project involving program development and heightened awareness that will lead to providing a pool of skilled logistics workers for this area of the Midwest.
Located west of Chicago where Interstate 80 and the Mississippi River intersect, the geographical area called the Quad Cities is situated at an excellent location for logistics/warehousing companies.
Transportation resources include multiple highways, three railway systems, an international airport, US Customs Port of Entry and barge transportation, making the outlook for continued growth in transportation, warehousing, and logistics companies very good.
Providing a skilled workforce is a major consideration.
Because of the grant and the labor needs of the region, Black Hawk College (BHC) and Eastern Iowa Community College District (EICCD) have created logistical programming in a unique interstate partnership to avoid duplication of offerings.
Complete program information is included on this site.
The logistics training programs are funded in part by the Department of Labor, through a grant awarded under the President's Community-Based Job Training Grant, as implemented by the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment & Training Administration.
As a part of our logistics field awareness efforts, we created the following logo (here in black & white version) to identify all of the efforts associated with this EICCD & BHC grant:
